2. Personal information collected
Identification data: name, email address, user ID.
Driving data: GPS location, speed, acceleration, braking, turning behavior, trip timestamps.
Application usage data: frequency of use, interactions with coaching features, driving scores, goals achieved, leaderboard position.
Technical data: device type, operating system, Application version, diagnostic logs.
3. Purposes of collection
Personal information is collected and used solely for the following purposes: providing the personalized driving coaching service, analyzing driving behaviors and generating scores and recommendations, enabling individual driver progress tracking, powering gamification features, providing aggregated performance reports to the employer's fleet manager, improving the Application and providing technical support.
4. Consent
The collection and use of your personal information is based on your free, informed and specific consent, obtained when you register for the Application.
Your participation in the Karoid coaching program is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw your consent at any time by uninstalling the Application or by contacting us at support@karoid.com.
5. Disclosure of information
To your employer: if you use the Application as part of a fleet program, your employer may have access to aggregated fleet performance data.
To service providers: Karoid may use third-party providers for data hosting, analytics and technical support. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
Karoid does not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Data hosting and transfer
Your personal information may be hosted or processed by cloud service providers located outside Quebec or Canada. Before any transfer, Karoid conducts a privacy impact assessment to ensure that adequate protective measures are in place, in accordance with Law 25.
7. Data retention
Personal information is retained only for the period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. The maximum retention period is two (2) years following the end of your use of the Application, unless otherwise required by law.
8. Data security
Karoid implements reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration or disclosure. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and access logging.
9. Your rights
Right of access: you may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
Right of rectification: you may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Right of deletion: you may request the deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations.
Right to portability: you may request to receive your personal information in a structured and commonly used format.
Right to withdraw consent: you may withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@karoid.com. We will respond within thirty (30) days.
10. Anonymization and aggregated data
Karoid may irreversibly anonymize your personal information for the purposes of analysis, research and service improvement. Karoid commits to not attempting to re-identify individuals from anonymized data. Aggregated data that cannot identify any specific person or company may be used by Karoid for internal or commercial purposes.
11. Privacy incidents
In the event of a privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm, Karoid will notify the affected individuals and Quebec's Commission d'acces a l'information as soon as possible, in accordance with Law 25. A privacy incident register is maintained and kept for a minimum of five (5) years.
12. Changes to this policy
Karoid may modify this privacy policy. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated date. In the event of a substantial change, we will notify you by email or through a notification in the Application.
13. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada.
